Pre-Match Preview: Burnley

On Tuesday evening we travel to Turf Moor, in what has to be a do or die fixture for our beleaguered Manager Mark Hughes. With temperatures forecast to drop below freezing, can the Potters inject some warmth into us all? Well with 3 defeats in our last 4 games the mood is not so good at all.

Burnley in contrast are 7th in the table and doing incredibly well. Their popular gaffer  Sean Dyche has turned Turf Moor into a fortress. They have 28 points from 16 games,  just 2 points shy of those Champions league places. Imagine that!

Turf Moor has a capacity of 22556 and has been their home since 1883. We will be located in the Ladbrokes Stand and have been allocated 2458 tickets priced at £30 each. We have not sold out our allocation. The away coaches depart the Bet365 at 4 pm and will travel the 83 miles (using the M6 North) in approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

If you decide to travel by car you can park on Burnley Cricket Club for £6 which is located right behind the away end. The cricket club itself is popular with away supporters for a pre match pint and hot food. However it can take some time to get away from this location owing to traffic etc.

For the train travellers, Burnley Central and Burnley Manchester Road are the two closest stations to Turf Moor. Both are within walking distance some 15-20 minutes away.

Make no mistake, this is a huge game for us and our recent form hardly fills us with confidence. We have failed to win in any of our previous 4 visits to Turf Moor and we have scored just twice in our last 5 visits. In fact, we currently have just 1 win from 8 away games this season.

Can we start to turn things around ?

Keep the faith and see you Tuesday.

James Lockett
