Player Ratings – Swansea

Jack Butland – 7

Didn’t have much to do all game apart from a superb save from his own captain. Left with no chance for Bony’s goal.

Kurt Zouma – 6

Struggled going forward down the right and at times was beaten too easily. Showed his strength as always but certainly not a right back.

Ryan Shawcross – 6

Could’ve attacked the ball better for Bony’s goal and Bony did have the better of him on multiple occasions throughout the game. Kept the defence organised well and launched a lovely ball forward to Crouch that created the winner. Lucky not to put the ball in his own net.

Bruno Martins Indi – 7

Looked a nasty injury, hopefully he won’t be out for too long. He was calm on the ball and Swansea didn’t cause him any problems.

Erik Pieters – 5

Didn’t have much to take care of defensively but was useless going forward, playing poor passes multiple times.

Xherdan Shaqiri – 7

Went missing at times but provided a lovely finish to even the scoring. Should have picked up an assist as well but Diouf somehow missed the target.

Darren Fletcher – 6

Battled hard in middle and gave the defence some solid protection however was beaten easily a couple times.

Joe Allen – 8

Worked so hard and picked up an assist as well. Good link up play throughout the game with the attack, much better for everyone’s favourite Welshman.

Maxim Choupo Moting – 4

Made no impact throughout the game, had to double check he was still on the pitch at one point.

Peter Crouch – 5

Didn’t trouble the goal, went for spectacular on the volley but it was never going in. Good in the air as always and his flick on created the winner.

Mame Diouf – 7

Applied pressure on the Swansea defence all game. Picked up a goal and was lucky with his touch but a lovely composed finish. Should have picked a second but somehow headed wide.

Kevin Wimmer – 7

Had no issues dealing with the Swansea defence when coming on. Picked up a yellow after stopping the Swansea break and taking one for the team.

Ramadan Sobhi – 7

Made an immediate impact when coming on and looked very confident. Did more than Moting did all game, should definitely start against Spurs.

Ibrahim Afellay – 6

Retained the ball well but didn’t have the time to make a huge impact.
