Player Ratings – Spurs

Jack Butland – 5

Conceded five but it would be harsh to blame him for any of the goals conceded, made some good saves to prevent it turning into a cricket score, had a lucky escape when he messed up with his feet.

Tom Edwards – 2

Not ideal that the youngsters second game is against a team like Spurs but he was poor throughout. Son beat him far too easily and Edwards lost him a few times, could be blamed for three out of the five goals. Shame after a bright start.

Kurt Zouma – 5

Made some good challenges to prevent the day getting worse but was still part of a leaky defence.

Ryan Shawcross – 5

Unlucky with his own goal but did make up for that with late goal in the right end, kept tight to Kane and prevented him scoring more by doing so.

Kevin Wimmer – 4

Lost his man multiple times and looked weak defensively, to top it all off he came out with those pathetic comments after the game.

Erik Pieters – 2

Kane beat him easily for the third while he was nowhere to been seen when Erikson got his goal, offered nothing, useless.

Darren Fletcher – 4

Poor passing throughout and lost numerous battles in midfield.

Joe Allen – 5

Ran around as always but i didn’t end up in anything, came close to an assist late on, definitely not the worst player on the pitch.

Xherdan Shaqiri – 4

Rarely involved and did miss a one on one, terrible header caused the third goal.

Mame Diouf – 4

Won headers against bigger players and held the ball up well but didn’t actually do anything to cause a threat.

Maxim Choupo Moting – 2

Irrelevant, did nothing from start to finish once again, Sobhi certainly should replace him against Burnley.

Peter Crouch – N/A

Came on with twenty minutes to go but had no impact.

Geoff Cameron – N/A

Came on late to limit any further damage.

Ibrahim Afellay – N/A

Another small cameo leading to nothing.
