Player Ratings – Leicester

Jack Butland – 5

Superb save from Okazaki in first half and his distribution did improve compared to recent games. However did misjudge the ball that led to corner which eventually ended up in a goal, also, for a keeper of his standard he should not have been beaten by Mahrez. Not the best of performances in front of the England boss.

Mame Diouf – 7

Worked so hard in every position on the pitch, created a couple chances for others, did have trouble dealing with Gray when at wing back.

Kevin Wimmer – 7

Good block early on to prevent Okazaki from opening the scoring, was a couple of occasions when he lost possession when trying to switch it long, still a lot better than his start at Stoke.

Kurt Zouma – 6.5

So close to winning it at the end but denied by a superb save. Gray got the better of him constantly throughout the game, dealt with most things well but Gray caused him too many issues.

Ryan Shawcross – 7.5

Defensively sound apart from one incident when Vardy turned him inside out but luckily dragged his shot wide. Another centre back who was denied by a good save at the other end. Everything works so much better when he is in the team.

Erik Pieters – 5

Mahrez beat him far too easily for their second, always seems to go missing at times leaving Wimmer to cover. Did nothing special going forward, weak link in the defence.

Darren Fletcher – 8

So underrated with most of his work going under the radar, so calm on the ball, rarely misplaced a pass, gave the defence the support they needed.

Joe Allen – 7.5

Best performance in a while, went forward well and was pretty tidy on the ball although still let himself down at times, was unlucky with his effort getting blocked after busting a gut to get there.

Xherdan Shaqiri – 8 – MOTM

Quality finish leaving the keeper with no chance, his corners were superb as well, got one assist but could’ve easily been more, what a player!

Maxim Choupo Moting – 7

Done a lovely little drop of the shoulder which gave him a glorious chance that was bread and butter for the keeper, should be doing better there. Picked up a glorious assist and worked hard all game and was a threat throughout.

Ramadan Sobhi – 6.5

Tried too much at times and ended up running into trouble but did play a couple of quality balls forward.

Peter Crouch – 7

Superb headed finish, a great asset to have coming of the bench. Get him on the plane to Russia, best ‘plan B’ going.

Saido Berahino – N/A

Did nothing in the small cameo he had.
