Player Ratings- Crystal Palace

Lee Grant – 6

One stand out save in the first half but left with no chance for both goals.

Mame Diouf – 5

Useless going forward after getting himself in good positions but did nothing with it. Didn’t do enough to stop the cross coming in that ended up with Palace scoring.

Kevin Wimmer – 4

Left two at the far post that ended up giving away the lead, struggled to deal with anyone who ran at him.

Kurt Zouma – 6

Looked the most solid at the back on the day but lost a header which ended up costing us big time.

Ryan Shawcross – 5

Let Benteke get the better of him at times and missed a glorious chance that was easier to score.

Erik Pieters – 4

A superb block early on that would have been 1-0 to Palace without him. However was beaten too easily a few times and like Wimmer, was suspect for leaving two at the far post for the equalizer.

Darren Fletcher – 6

Made some very intelligent forward passes that did create opportunities but lost possession a few too many times.

Joe Allen – 6

Got stuck in from start to finish but another who was caught on the ball a few times and in dangerous areas as well, always seems to run into trouble.

Xherdan Shaqiri – 8

We’d be bottom of the league without this diamond, a superb run and finish and should have picked up an assist but Shawcross somehow missed. Did miss a one on one near the start as he waited to long to strike it but certainly made up for it.

Maxim Choupo Moting – 5

His hold up play was good and had a strong physical presence but didn’t actually cause a threat. He was beaten far too easily in right wing-back but that was more down to our tactically inept manager than Choupo himself.

Ramadan Sobhi – 6

Another who got stuck in but didn’t cause any significant threat and did lose possession a few times himself.

Peter Crouch – 5

A couple of knock downs was all he could do but it wasn’t good enough, you could say he didn’t have long enough to make an impact.

Jese – 4

Drilled one wide with his first touch, should have struck it with his left foot if he wanted a chance of hitting the target. Followed that up with a poor ball in the box for Crouch, done nothing when coming on but had chances to.
