Player Ratings – Manchester City

Jack Butland – 4

Conceded seven but couldn’t be blamed for any apart from maybe the sixth when he has beating as his near post.

Tom Edwards – 5

Suffered defensively and Sane had him all over the place however did look a little promising at times and his cross for Diouf was exceptional, shame he couldn’t continue but looking forward to seeing more of him.

Kurt Zouma – 5

Drove forward well once but launched his shot wide, lost the ball of City’s fifth however could’ve easily been more without his interceptions at times.

Kevin Wimmer – 2

Missed headers and got torn apart, absolutely shocking display, the worst defensive display I’ve saw in some time, thankfully removed at half time.

Erik Pieters – 4

Another who was torn apart on the day, was far too deep at times, kept others onside.

Mame Diouf – 7

Put in a good shift and luck was on his side for both goals.

Darren Fletcher – 5

Poorest he has performed to date in a Stoke shirt, lost the ball for their first goal, passing not up to the usual standard.

Geoff Cameron – 6

Another who ran around a little bit and he probably did a better job than Allen would have, came close to scoring when hitting the side netting.

Maxim Choupo Moting – 4

Forgot he was even playing, didn’t make any impact.

Xherdan Shaqiri – 5

Another who made little impact, couple of good moments on the ball but nowhere near good enough.

Jese – 5

Lovely set up for the first of Diouf’s lucky goals but simply couldn’t keep ball, probably right to be removed at half time.

Ibrahim Afellay – 4

Didn’t have a chance to make a significant impact, picked up a silly yellow after losing the ball then pulling down Sane’s pants, a moment that summarised the day.

Bruno Martins Indi – 4

Lost the ball for City’s fourth, was better than Wimmer when coming on but that’s not saying much.

Ramadan Sobhi – 2

Didn’t look bothered and made no impact, didn’t even try.
