Player Ratings : Arsenal
Jack Butland – 6
Although letting four goals in you couldn’t really fault Jack for any of them, pulled of a few decent saves to make sure the day didn’t get even worse.
Glen Johnson – 3
Shocking performance. Monreal couldn’t believe his luck with the space Johnson gave him, when he made progress going forward the ball into the box let him down, caught out multiple times by numerous Arsenal players.
Ryan Shawcross – 5
Caught out a few too many times and wasted possession by hoofing the ball up field to absolutely nobody, although did manage to do the basics of defending unlike some of his teammates.
Bruno Martins Indi – 6
Another game were Bruno showed his strength and defensive capabilities but even he made a couple of sloppy mistakes.
Erik Pieters – 4
Lost possession multiple times when there was an easy pass available, like Monreal, Bellerin also couldn’t believe his luck with the space he had, at times when Arsenal went forward down the left Pieters was nowhere to be seen. In all fairness he made a couple decent crosses which is extremely rare to see from him.
Glenn Whelan – 5
Couldn’t be bothered to track Ozil’s run who went on to slot one past Butland, although the majority of the game he put in a good shift defensively this was cancelled out when he actually needed to make some passes forward.
Geoff Cameron – 4
Another far from his best, some terrible touches broke down any attack we looked like making, made some silly fouls on the back of losing possession, was far too slow and made some poor choices on the ball always picking out the wrong man.
Joe Allen – 6
Probably one of the better players on the pitch but that doesn’t mean much at all after that, worked hard and was pretty good going forward.
Xherdan Shaqiri – 5
Drifted in and out of the game, when the ball was at his feet he made poor choices by tucking inside and trying to take his man on instead of just putting one into the box, struggled to get going.
Mame Diouf – 2
Completely inafective, ran around all game to now success then headed wide from 2 yards out. Could be argued that it wasn’t his fault as when the ball was with him there was no support to be seen.
Marko Arnautovic – 7
Created our best opportunitys and picked up a well deserved assist after somehow not getting one after Diouf failed to convert.
Peter Crouch – 6
Lovely hand to knock it into the back of the net, when coming on we seemed to step it up a gear as a team, worked very hard and deserves to start the final game of the season next week.
Saido Berahino – 2
Had half an hour to change the game but all he came up with was a shot on goal that my Nana could’ve saved.
Ramadan Sobhi – N/A
Only came on due to the Arnie injury and didn’t really have the time to make an impact. With Arnie likely to miss next weeks game it’ll be good to hopefully see Sobhi start a game again, although given Mark Hughes’ team selections this season I wouldn’t be surprised if Charlie Adam starts left wing.
I’ll see you next week after we lose our final game to Southampton, be sure to let us know how you feel on these quite low ratings.
