Player Ratings : Burnley

Boring first half followed by a shambles of a second….

Lee Grant – 6

Nothing too difficult to do, no chance with the Burnley goal, did the basics well although questions must be asked about his distribution.

Ryan Shawcross – 7

Pretty solid display, nothing caused him any major problems, making his fair share of clearances and as always, strong in the air.

Bruno Martins Indi – 6

One of the more shakey performances in recent time, certainty not his best, nearly caught out a couple times. Still showed his power and solid defensive capabilities at times. Picked up a silly yellow in stoppage time for a silly of the ball incident.

Marc Muniesa – 7

Lost Boyd for the goal but it was still fantastic to see evreyones favourite Spanish defender on the pitch. Solid at the back and did well going forward with the ball.

Mame Diouf – 6

Ran really well and applied good pressure, as good as a striker in a wing back can get. Lacked any end product, couldn’t create any chances when the there was opportunity to do so.

Charlie Adam – 2

I’m not sure where to start, numerous needless fouls, couldn’t be arsed with defending letting Hendrick skip past him, all his shots went straight to Heaton, struggled to pick out his teammates in the final third and the less said about his corner into a handball the better.

Joe Allen – 6

Put the usual graft in but his short range passing let him down a couple times although did make so could longer range balls, also let Hendrick skip past him for the goal.

Geoff Cameron – 7

Another who put the graft in the centre of the field, provided good cover at the back and went forward with the ball well. Just like his last few games his passing once again let him down on quite a few occasions.

Erik Pieters – 7

One of his better performances as of recent times, provided good support for Arnie but lacked any end product, pretty similar to Diouf.

Saido Berahino – 7

Another who grafted well and even created our best chance of the game, didn’t cause the Burnley defence any issues himself but an improvement on his last couple of games.

Marko Arnautovic – 6

Nowhere near his best, had some glorious chances but nothing came from it. Some lazy passes but did look threatening at times and created a couple chances.

Peter Crouch – 5

Came on with 20 minutes left but made little impact. Put one wide and any another threats cut out by the Burnley defence.

Ibrahim Afellay – N/A

Came on with 5 minutes of normal time and somehow played 6 minutes stoppage time. Although did nothing in that time

Mark Hughes – 0

Absolutely ridiculous. Tactically inept. Pathetic substitutions. Terrible relationship with players. He’s losing my love for football. Get rid.
