Player Ratings : Spurs

Following that horrific display, expect lots of low numbers….

Lee Grant – 6

Couldn’t do anything with the goals. Questionable Kicking but made some superb saves to deny Kane a 4th and from Dier, yes the flag was up but Grant knew nothing about that. Can’t put any blame on him.

Phil Bardsley – 5

Wasn’t the worst defender on the pitch, caught miles away from his position numerous times yet made a couple of decent challenges and knocked the ball around well.

Ryan Shawcross – 2

Got beat far too easily time and time again. Some pathetic defending especially for Kane’s first. Should’ve gave away a penalty after a ridiculously clear handball. Can’t just blame him for not picking up Harry Kane from the corner but with Kane being has man and him being the leader of the back four some of the blame has to be put on him. After some consistent displays, this has been one of his worst in a long time.

Bruno Martins Indi – 5

The better centre half today, made some good blocks to prevent the score line becoming a rugby score. Still played a part in a shocking defensive performance and also struggled to cope with Spurs.

Eric Pieters – 4

Got beat by Walker time and time again, couldn’t cope with the Spurs attack and like Bardsley, caught out of position multiple times.

Glenn Whelan – 2

Stupid two footed challenge on Vertonghen to pick up a silly early yellow. Didn’t provide any protection to the back four. Basically he was absolutely useless today.

Charlie Adam – 2

Stupid challenge on Dembele to pick up a yellow followed by another stupid challenge that could’ve got him another card but instead it costed us the goal from the free kick. Spurs midfield would’ve laughed when they saw Adam was starting, far too slow, struggles to keep possession and inept of pulling of a simple header without belly diving to the floor. Poor delivery from set plays. Why is he starting games?

Marko Arnautovic – 4

Wiped out Ali and picked up another stupid yellow card for the team. Took far too long to make a pass on the break. Made little impact in the game.

Joe Allen – 2

Sold half his passes short and misplaced the rest. Bottled it from Kane’s freekick, stepping sideways instead of going towards the ball. Up there with his worst displays in a Stoke shirt.

Ramadan Sobhi – 7

Only player who deserves any credit. Showed his pace and strength well. Best player going forward and tracked back to show his defensive side well.

Peter Crouch – 3

Should’ve scored from our one and only real chance, good same from Lloris to prevent this. Flicked some balls on, done nothing else.

Sadio Berahino – 2

Ran around a little bit, didn’t do anything, literally nothing in half an hour. Arguably not his fault but still.

Ibrahim Afellay – 6

Midfield looked more lively when he came on, did a better job than any other Stoke midfielder did.

Geoff Cameron – N/A

Didn’t do anything in the ten minutes he played to warrant a rating, although good to see evreyones favourite Trump fan back.
