Player Ratings : Crystal Palace
I’m tired and lacking motivation after watching that for 90 minutes, but a win is a win even if it was over the poorest side in the league at the moment. Anyways you know what I’m here to do by now, lets go…
Lee Grant – 7
Literally had nothing to do worth mentioning, not his fault in fairness, gave him the standard average goalkeeper performance rating. Can’t fault the man.
Phil Bardsley – 7
Zaha caused him a tiny bit of hassle but coped well the majority of what he played before going off injured.
Ryan Shawcross – 7
Made some lovely challenges, at ease dealing with Benteke, shouldn’t be getting any voicemails tonight.
Bruno Martins Indi – 7
Also at ease dealing with Benteke and Unlucky not to score after his header is cleared of the line by Townsend.
Eric Pieters – 7
Linked up very well with Sobhi, helping create some good chances, while creating a chance or two himself.
Glenn Whelan – 8
Yet another superb defensive display, providing some consistent performances as of late showing why he is still more than capable of playing the holding midfield role. Special mention to his lovely ball into Sobhi where Allen should’ve scored.
Charlie Adam – 5
Foul. Foul. Foul. Silly performance, made an occasional average ball but a pathetic amount of needless fouls, time to give Afellay a run of games in this position.
Ramadan Sobhi – 8
Man of the match! Quality performance! Superb hold up play for the goal, caused Ward numerous problems, lovely ball into Allen in first half that should’ve ended in an assist. Can’t wait till Hughes leaves him out the squad next game.
Joe Allen – 8
Took his goal very well, covered every blade of grass as always, should’ve buried his header in first half for a perfect Sobhi ball. Quality performance. If he is a number ten, my dad is Hulk Hogan. Did very well though, an overdue good performance.
Marko Arnautovic – 7
Forced a good save out of the Palace number one, lovely ball into Sobhi for the Allen goal and showed his strength in holding up the ball very well. Good performance considering he was on his not preferred right hand side the majority of the game.
Peter Crouch – 6
Nearly nipped the ball away from Hennessy that would’ve opened the scoring if he did so, won his fair share of battles in the air, didn’t do too much in terms of actually causing a threat to the Palace goal.
Glen Johnson – 6
Could’ve coped with Schlupp better at times, done well considering he has missed the past few weeks.
Mame Diouf – 5
Didn’t have too much to do when coming on, done his defensive duties, nothing to shout about.
Ibrahim Afellay – 7
Controlled the game well we he came on, unlucky not to latch onto a slightly over hit Arnie ball splitting the defence. Much better performance than Adam in a smaller period of time.
Tell us what you disagree with, I’m sure there is the usual weekly controversy with these ratings.
