The Transfer Rumour XI
GK- Giannelli Imbula
He’s in the team purely because there has been no goalkeeper speculation as yet, probably thanks to the outrageous performances of Jack Butland. I feel as though he might be sending us a message with his decision to wear gloves when its really sunny. Does the Frenchman fancy a go between the sticks?
LB- Charlie Taylor
Taylor picked up player of the season for Leeds after his performances at full back and up the left side last season. It looks as though we face competition from Liverpool but it not yet apparent how much substance there is behind the story. The 22-year-old shows a lot of promise and will likely be looking for a big role within the squad.
CB- Neven Subotic
The Serbian centre-back has appeared 258 times for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 18 goals. He also has a wealth of international experience, making a total of 36 competitive appearances.
CB- Michael Keane
Keane won the championship last season with Burnley and has had on and off links with Stoke for quite some time now. He may end up staying put as he will now be playing Premier League football, but there’s no doubt that the 6’2 centre back would be a good addition to the Stoke squad.
RB- Paul Dummet
Naturally a left back, Dummet finds himself facing the prospect of championship football after Newcastle’s relegation from the top flight. He made 18 league appearances last season and even scored a tidy goal against Manchester United.
LM- Jordan Ibe
I find this one the hardest to believe given he made 41 total appearances for Liverpool in the last campaign. If he is looking to leave, then chances are there will be an array of clubs chasing his signature. As an alternative, there is talk of us approaching Jack Grealish to strengthen the left side if Arnautovic does decides to depart. Both players are 20-years-old, English, and show good potential at their current clubs.
CM- Axel Witsel
Italian press report that we’ve tabled a €15M bid for the Belgian international. Could we see him pull on the red and white stripes?
CM- Lewis Cook
Cook is another bright prospect in the Leeds United squad who has broken into the England setup at under-19’s level. Rumours suggest that we are ready to bid in the region of £10M for the defensive midfielder who is being chased by a number of premier league sides.
RM- Nathan Redmond
Stories linking us with the young right-sided midfielder who plays for Norwich have surfaced thick and fast. Is he what we need to strengthen our wings?
ST- M’Baye Niang
The French striker who plays for Milan has a good goal-scoring record, and if he is available for the right price, could be exactly what we need to challenge our current strike force.
ST- Saido Berahino
Having had a bid rejected previously, Berhaino’s value seems to be falling as he runs down his contract in search of a new club. Is he a player worth chasing or could his infamous attitude have a negative impact on the dressing room?
